What is Advocacy?

Advocacy is the activities individuals and organizations participate in to help influence public policy, government messaging and laws by leveraging relationships in the media and the government on behalf of a specific cause or public problem.

KC Redemption case managers serve as advocates for our clients with judges, probation and parole officers, and the general public.  Advocacy around important issues is a key factor for our clients.  Many times, simple education around important subject matter acts as guidepost for decision-makers that directly affect our clients.

Many of our diversion programs center around the ability of case managers to effectively advocate on behalf of our clients in prevention of incarceration and positively affect recidivism rates.
